She was born as Angelica Dupaya Pamintuan on November 8 in Angeles City, Philippines. She and her older brother were raised by their grandmother, who she refers to as "Nanay" - translates to "mother" in Tagalog (main dialect in the Philippines). At age eleven, she and her brother relocated to California and reunited with their parents, who were living in Nice, France for 4 years. Her father, Bert, is in the mortgage business and mother, Virginia, is in accounting. Angelica is the middle of three siblings.
Growing up, renowned by strangers for her beauty was prevalent. Frequently challenged if she was a model, she entertained the idea for a short while. However, her interest in the field did not exist until she experienced her first photo session. Her comfort in front of the lens, which she professed as "so much fun", followed a passion. Due to the obvious, the striking physical traits, and distinctive individuality, she was signed by the first modeling agency she walked into and booked her first job the next day. Appearance in numerous music videos followed. Swimsuit, lingerie, fitness, and body type bookings became regular, as she always kept her body fit. Commercial and print bookings led to major motion pictures. She studied acting with a few coaches, one of whom is Howard Fine. She appeared in major films such as "Enemy of the State" with Will Smith, "Father’s Day" with Billy Crystal and Robin Williams. She also appeared in numerous television shows such as "Malcolm and Eddie", "The Drew Carey Show", TV commercials and print ads for clients such as Mercedes Benz, Ford, Yoplait, Beck's, to name a few. She appeared in Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Bazaar, InStyle, Vanity Fair, and Elle magazines. She was the spokesmodel for the major print and commercial ad campaign for Liz Claiborne "Bora-Bora" Fragrance icon alongside actor George Stults.
In 2002, she suffered a serious injury due to an auto accident while in Los Angeles traveling to her auditions. Her feet endured the most injuries, which required series of surgeries in a 3-year span, therefore was out of commission for a very long time. She was in and out of a leg cast, but was still able to book jobs in the midst. She is now fully recovered and back in the mix.
